Stalked and purchased this beautifully detailed maxi a couple weeks ago at Forever 21 and waited for what I felt was the appropriate time to wear it to work. Although you really can't tell much from the photos the navy spiked pumps complimented the maxi very well adding a bit of edge to complete the look. Midweek Frugal Fabness Outfit of the Day!

Happy Hump day Fab Fashionistas! Just received some disappointing news about an event I was hoping to attend but that's the way the cookie crumbles in Bloggerland:-(  On a positive note I completely adore my Hump Day look of the day and in its own little way it's helping me forget the negative news I received and focus on the positivity thats ahead!....Take a look!

Fell in luv with this top and skirt Saturday morning while visiting Miroa in the Pembroke Lakes Mall. It was the colors in the skirt that first caught my attention then I was completely sold after I tried it on! I thought it was the perfect outfit to get me over the midweek hump and I think I hit the nail on the head with this one!

Crazy in Luv!

How much of a part does your significant other play in your style? I was watching the latest episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians on Sunday night and in this episode Kanye West who is current involved in a relationship with Kim Kardashian convinced her that she needed to donate a large portion of her wardrobe to charity while filling up her closet with pieces that add a little more edge to her look. When the cameras paned over the multitude of fabness she was getting rid of I cringed in disbelief! I  mean if there's one thing I have always liked and admired about Kim it was her style. Don't get me wrong, Kanye is a very talented artist but after viewing a couple pieces in his latest collection there's no way in hell I would allow him to dress me! If I'm speaking honestly on the subject Kim has worn some of the worst outfits I have ever seen her wear since becoming booed up with Mr. West in the first place!  Everyone can stand to dress with a little edge, but if Mr. West thinks he can turn Kim into a catsuit wearing Amber Rose he has another thing coming! This isn't the first time we've seen this happen in relationships. Who can forget the JLo/PDiddy era? What this particular episode did was lead me to ask my readers, How important is it in your relationship that your significant other agrees or accepts your style? Would it be a deal breaker if the luv of your life hated your fashion choices and wanted to give you a makeover? Speak on it!

Happy Tuesday Fashion Fabsters, I hope everyone is off to an excellent start this beautiful day! Just wanted to take a quick second and share with you my Tuesday Fit of the day, so let's have a look!

I've been fortunate enough to work in a pretty casual atmosphere which gives me the ability to be as fashionable as I want between the hours of 9-6 (job perk)! With this being my situation I try to make sure most of my shopping purchases are items I can wear for work, play, and everything in between! It was definitely luv at first sight when I found this cute maxi skirt at Sears...Yes Sears, and to my luck, the Price was Right! Threw on a cute black coverup (not seen here) and I was all set for the day! What does your Tuesday Fit of the Day look Like?

Blogging Body Issues and Me!

Its 5:26 in the a.m. and I'm up blogging because there's something I want to bring to your attention that you just might not be aware of if you're not a blogger. Its the age old topic of Blogging and Body Issues. I participated in a weekly bloggers chat group called #Blogtrends and this was the topic of discussion last night, but I left the chat with so many things I wanted to discuss but never did so thought I would just get it all out  here. While I think it's fab that so many of us can get together to discuss the whole body image topic I left the meeting actually seeing and feeling a complete disconnect. I think its hard for a blogger to see and experience what a size 8, African American, Fashion Blogger  goes through on a daily basis if you yourself have never experienced it. Many will never know what its like to blog about a brand you luv for a year straight only to contact them and be told their not interested in working with you because you don't fit the image their looking for! We talked about how a majority of the bloggers who get the brand sponsorships and major acknowledgements are normally really thin and pretty and represent the brands target audience, but I don't believe that person who is thin and pretty and always being contacted by brands can understand me feeling like I'm not contacted because I'm not thin, I'm black, and just your average looking female. To say that brands are more in contact with you because you represent their target audience is a lie within itself as far as I'm concerned.  I think it's just a way for brands to sell a false image that we allow to happen repeatedly by purchasing those products. I mean let's face it, Its a known fact that women are more likely to buy when the person selling the product looks more like they  do and I don't recall the size 2 diva being the norm so why is she the mass majority of what we see in the magazines, commercials, and even online sites? . We also had some that stated Minorities or Plus size bloggers weren't being acknowledged simply because they weren't working hard enough on their blogs to be contacted by Brands and Sponsors and we all know that's a cop out! Don't get me wrong, I happen to be in a serious luv affair with my body and the image I have created but Imagine working hard and constantly reaching for a goal that you may never achieve simply because you're not 5'7 with blond hair an blue eyes. Even if you pretend to just be blogging for the pure satisfaction of it, what could be more satisfying than being recognized simply for the luv of what you do. I appreciate the fact that such a large group can get together and discuss such a heated topic without there being any blood shed, but I also left the meeting fellin a little clueless on what to do next. Not a day goes by that I'm not telling someone how to find a great pair of shoes at bargain prices, how to find a fab dress on a budget, or how to shop to make an everlasting impression on date night. So personally speaking when it comes to being able to sell fashion, I am and will always be what I consider the perfect target audience! Isn't it time you see someone like you selling the items you want to wear, or will we forever allow society and brands to forever feed us the targeted seperation? I simply cant wait for the day that I see women of all ages, sizes, and colors being represented equally when it comes to fashion and I feel my role as a fashion blogger of color is to fight, educate, and bring attention to this issue until it changes! I ask each and every one of you today, Are you ready for a change?

Macy's Michael Kors Fall Previev Event!

Happy Monday Fashionable Folks!  I hope everyone enjoyed a GREAT weekend! Sunday I had the pleasure of attending the Michael Kors Fall Fashion Preview event at Macy's and what an awesome event it was!...Let me walk you through!

The event was hosted by Michael Kors own Wilber Cerda who happens to be the Shop Manager for Macy's Broward. Wilber was very entertaining and also gave the audience a little Michael Kors history!

Michelle Gonzalez,  Estee Lauder Account Coordinator was on hand to inform guest about what was new for Estee Lauder and also to provide one special guest with a gift package.

Carolina Martinez-Santander, Catholic Hospice Community Relations Coordinator was on hand conducting a raffle to raise money, and teaming up with Macy's providing one lucky guest with their very own Michael Kors bag!

April Raquel entertained the crowd by performing 2 songs! The Michael Kors crowd loved it!
