Half the Sky!

Thursday night I had the pleasure of attending the Half the Sky Turning Oppression Into Opportunity for Women Worldwide screening at the Little Haiti Cultural Center in Miami Florida and to say it was an eyeopening documentary would be an understatement. Half the Sky is the landmark series created by New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristol and Sheryl Dunn follow six actress-advocates Diane Lane, America Ferrera, Meg Ryan, Eva Mendes, Gabrielle Union and Olivia Wilde as the travel to six countries meeting inspiring women who are confronting oppression and developing meaningful economic solutions through health care, education, and economic empowerment.

Eva Mendes investigates gender based violence in Sierra Leone, a country where most of the assaults and rapes go unreported.

Gabrielle Union visits Vietnam where she meets Nhi a 14 year old girl who is the primary bread earner in her home put to work daily by her father selling lottery tickets and the sacrifices made daily to get an education from the Room to Read Organization.

Diana Lane investigated maternal mortality in Somaliland where one in ever 12 women dies in childbirth due to poor nutrition and female genital mutilation.

Meg Ryan traveled to Cambodia to investigate issues of sex trafficking where 30 percent of the prostitutes are children.

America Ferrera traveled to India where it is estimated that 90 percent of sex workers' daughters follow their mothers into prostitution and of the three million prostitutes in the country, 1.2 million are children.

At the conclusion of the screening Actress Gabrielle Union answered audience questions and spoke indepth about her personal experiences, what made her want to take part in such a  powerful documentary and also what can be done to assist with the economic empowerment of women.

I left the Half the Sky screening knowing that Gabrielle's inside was even more beautiful than what we see on the core.

For the Half the Sky screening being such a fan of Gabrielle's style I knew I wanted to keep my look Chic, Sassy, and Sophisticated so I went with this beautiful baroque print shirt and pencil skirt from JCPenny!

I completed my look with nude pumps, gold accessories, nude clutch and a pink pout!

Half The Sky: Turning Opression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide will premiere October1,2 at 9:00p.m. on channel WPBT 2. Make sure you tune in!

Kailee-Heaven Sent!

Good evening Fab Fashionistas, I am  approximately 34 minutes away from starting my Weekend and I'm beyond excited! Is it just me or has Friday turned into one of the longest and most drawn out days of the week???? I mean it seems as thought it takes forever to come to a close! Because I know my Fridays are going to be a little special I try to make it a point to wear something new or different that I luv to keep my attention from running all over the place. I also find that wearing hot shoes to work are great conversation starters and allow me to easily introduce new readers who like my style to the Frugal Flirty N Fab! Today I decided to introduce Kailee to the 9-5, Check her out!

It was basically luv at first sight when I walked into Bakers and found Kailee staring at me! She was looking for a good home and luckily for her I was looking for a shoe I could call my own!

Kailee also comes in a beautiful black which was originally my first choice and rest assured ladies they are as comfortable as you can get!. Due to the fact that they were out of my size in the black I went with the red. I believe everything happens for one reason or another so I think I was just destined to have the red Kailee in my life!
What hot shoes are you planning on introducing to the world this weekend?

Personal Style-My RnB Fit!

When I found out I'd be attending the Forever RnB Concert Series I knew immediately I wanted to keep it sexy yet classy, so without further adieu lets just right in to my RnB Fit!

I chose to go with this striped cut out bodycon dress because I thought it was appropriate for the event, complimented my body nicely, and also because it was luv at first site from the moment I spotted it on the rack!

Because the dress had a simple black and white striped pattern I knew I wanted to add as much color as possible with my shoes and accessories so these beauties were absolutely perfect for the occasion.

I can't even put into words how comfortable these babies were! And even after having them on for over 4 hours walking up and down I still felt like I could run a marathon in them...Winning!

I completed my RnB look with a Coral and tan envelope clutch, multiple silver and black bracelets and these super fab earrings!

Forever R&B

Happy Monday Fab Fashionistas! If there's one thing you need to know about the Frugal Flirty N Fab it's that I'm a huge music lover! While 2 Chainz and French Montana make me dance inappropriately, my heart n soul lies in RnB music. When I received an email about this awesome concert series focusing on the re-emergence of some of my favorite artists I knew this was somewhere I had to be! Saturday night I had the pleasure of visiting the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables for the Forever RnB Concert Series with special guests Dru Hill, Kelly Price, and Shirley Murdock and I can't even begin to put into words how Awesome the show was, but please allow me to walk you through........

The show was hosted by Miami funny man Larry Dog and Tamara G. Larry Dog actually opened the show performing with his band and between his singing and comedy routine he kept the crowd beyond entertained!

Shirley Murdock was the first artist to perform and when I tell you a piece of my soul was with her on stage as she sang As We Lay please believe me! See a part of me had convinced myself that there was no way after so many years Shirley could even come close to singing that song the way she did so many years ago, but to my surprise she sounded even better! Pure heaven on earth!!

Next up was one of my favorite boy bands of all time Dru Hill complete with members Sisqo, Jazz, Nokio, and new member Tao! They sounded absolutely fantastic and took me right back to a particular time and place singing their hits In My Bed, Whatever You Want, and a host of others! They sounded amazing and the energy was simply crazy!

Tao, Sisqo, and Nokio

Member Jazz has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard from a man and ladies and gents it seems to get better with time!

Last but not least was the headliner of the show the very beautiful, talented, Grammy Nominee Kelly Price who took us on a timeline of not only her greatest hits but also the hits of some of her favorites such as Whitney Houston and even Shirley Murdock who joined Kelly for her rendition of As We Lay, Amazeballs! I can't even put into words the clarity and beauty of Kelly's voice. Truly a gift from God!

This concert just reminded me of why I fell in love with RnB in the first place! Who are some of your favorite RnB Artists and what are your thoughts on the state of RnB music?
