5 Steps to Becoming a Celebrated Fab yet Frugal Fashionista!

It's a thin line between being Fashionably Cheap and Fashionably Frugal but for some reason many of you seem to get it mixed up! Why have we been brainwashed to believe that one item is somehow less fashionable than another simply because of the price we pay for it? Why is it OK to have a total of 7 great pieces in your wardrobe you paid thousands for instead of 70 equally as fab pieces you paid pennies on the dollar for? Well the buck stops here! I mean where do you get off thinking I can't possibly be Fashionably Fab simply because I'm proud to say I'm  Frugal Fashionista? I love watching entertainment shows, checking in on Celebrity Style, and visiting the blogs of my favorite Fashionista's,  but if I hear one more joke or insult about some semi Celebrity or wannabe Celebrity weirdo buying their outfit or what not from Ross,Burlington, or other so called discount store  I'm going to scream, throw things, and have a severe tantrum like my 1 year old! I mean where do we get off judging others simply because they refuse or cant afford to spend 5.5 million bucks on the latest pair of shoes or dress of the season? I have much more respect for the Celebrity who comes forward and says they'd rather have a retirement account that the latest Chanel bag and I'm not afraid to admit it! Today not only will I proudly Confess to being a Frugal Flirty N Fab Fashionista but I will also share with you 5 of my Top Tips for being a Frugal Fashionista while looking and feeling like a Million Bucks!

Don't be afraid to say NO even when if it's Love at first Sight!
There's so many things I love about shopping, looking well put together, and sharing fashion finds with those around me. More often that not one of  the main questions I receive is how to go about finding my frugal finds. Well the answer is fairly simple, the Frugal Finds are all around you! Major rule of thumb, Even when you find something and immediately know it's love at first site, Unless it comes complete with some type of discount or special offer Do Not Buy!  You ever heard the saying, Nothing Stays the Same Forever"? Well that saying goes true for any and all fashion items too. Yes you may have to become a professional stalker, checking for daily sales and clipping coupons but  the joy one feels when that dress she couldn't live without is sitting all fancy and bright eyed below a bright red SALE sign makes you once saying No to it all worth it! The thought of this even happening to someone  is instant gratification for me! Be tough, be fierce, and most of all Be smart! No Sale-No Buying! Anything worth having is worth Saving for!

Get to Know the Ins and Outs of  the Places you Frequently Shop!
If you're a true Fab Fashionista you know the habits of your favorite shopping grounds by heart! You learn new merchandise arrives on Tuesdays, The best clearance merchandise is set out on Thursdays, and that Midweek is when you can find the best online and store coupons for your favorite spot. Oh and don't be afraid to get to know the sales employee. I still remember the very first time I walked into a forever 21 and the Sales Rep was training a new employee and introduced me to the new worker as one of the Stores best and most loyal Customers! Damn, how embarrassing I originally thought to myself, but when the new girl started texting me with store sales and discount tips I held my head high and considered it to be an honor to be known as one of fashions finest! Who doesn't like being recognized for his or her accomplishments?

Don't be afraid to get Down and Dirty
You say you want to find the best deals yet you complain about not having the time to thoroughly search through that clearance rack! Can't have your cake and eat it too! Some of the best deals I recall ever buying were located underneath a pile of rubble on the disturbing looking clearance rack! Face the challenge head on and trust when I tell you, you want be sorry! Rumble through Racks, ask if there are any additional clearance items in the back, Scope out the return items, and last but not least  don't be afraid to hit up the dressing room return racks, always hidden treasure hiding out there!

Just because it looks too good to be true doesn't mean it is!
Sometimes things happen that are simply beyond what you can imagine. Like when you're working with limited funds, have an out of this world function to attend, and find an original Lilly Pulitzer Dress of your Dreams marked down 50% off with an additional 30% being taken at the register! No it isn't torn, damaged, mistakenly placed, or a figment of your imagination! Fab Finds do exist! You just have to be willing to let them in when they come!

A majority of the time while shopping its not about what you don't see but more so about being able to picture the possibilities.
