Ideal Weekend Getaway to Ocala/Marion County Florida!

Hey y'all hey! Can you believe its November already? Seems like we were just toasting in the New Year and it's already nearly over. Before we get all caught up in the hustle and bustle and of course stress of the Holidays I think this is the perfect time to  round up my crew for a little much needed family time and whisk them  away on a quaint little weekend getaway to Ocala/ Marion County Florida. Traveling from the East Coast of Florida the drive to Ocala/ Marion County is only a few hours but what I'm looking most to seeing on this expedition is the beautiful scenery were sure to encounter along the way. Now that we have a clear understanding of why Ocala/ Marion County is the perfect driving destination for a weekend getaway lets discuss exactly what we'll do once we reach our desired destination. Doesn't matter if you're looking to become one with nature or take in some art, you can find a variety of events  for all personalities during November and December in Ocala/Marion County Florida. Most known for its outdoor activities  with a wide range of options from horseback riding to golfing, fishing, boating, hiking, swimming at the springs, biking, zip lining and so much more making Ocala the perfect family destination with something for everyone. On November 19th, The entirety of downtown Ocala will be decorated in bright, beautiful lights, highlighted by the lighting of a 42-foot-tall Christmas tree. This event known as Light Up Ocala, will be festive, fun and fitting for the whole family.
If art, culture and entertainment are more your style then you won't want to miss First Friday Artwalk. Ocala/Marion County’s talented local artists will display their heart and soul in open air spaces and beautiful boutique shops. The art walk spans 15 whole blocks, centered on Ocala’s Downtown Square, and is a guaranteed evening of fun, showcasing local talent, and inspiring artistic intrigue. Who's to say you won't discover the next Picasso or Da Vinci?

If you're anything like me you already know it's definitely all about the food on a weekend getaway and when visiting Ocala/Marion County Florida you're in luck because they are home to some of the most fantastic restaurants around. Treat your tastebuds to some deliciousness at Harry's Seafood Bar and Grill where you can enjoy a New Orleans type menu serving everything from Voodoo Shrimp to Crab cakes to Red Beans N Rice.
