NBA All-Star Dwyane Wade and the Gift of Giving!

NBA All Star Dwyane Wade and the Wade's World Foundation hosts "3 Under the Tree" to serve and Inspire Underprivileged Communities during the Holiday Season, and yours truly the Frugal Flirty N Fab was honored to witness it! The first event was Dwyane Wade surprising Welline Rose Lubin and her 2 young children with a new home makeover after the family suffered an electrical fire in their Hallandale Beach apartment earlier. The family was treated to furniture and all things needed to make the new home a place to call their own.
The second gift of kindness happened today when DWade and Neighbors for Neighbors granted the Holiday wishes of deserving families by granting them all with $1000 Target shopping sprees for the items of their choice, Take a look!!

The families were actually unaware as to why they were asked to gather at the Midtown Target. So imagine their surprise when DWade showed up and announced they were all being treated to $1000 Target Shopping Sprees! The looks on the faces of the families were priceless! One of the youngest family members was super cute giving DWade a hi5!

 

Another of the family members was brought to tears and asked Dwyane to speak with her husband who was too ill to make the trip today to Target. For everyone in attendance lets just say that conversation was priceless where the husband advised Wade that he was a true fan and greatly appreciated his act of Kindness!

 

After the shopping was done Dwyane took pictures and signed autographs with the families.

 

When asked why it was so important to give back to the community, Dwyane Wade recalled that one of the best Christmas he ever had with his family was when the school he attended as a kid reached out with a Gift Of kindness to his family and how it made him feel. Wade said he comes from a Family of giving and that is what they will continue to do.

For the 3rd act of kindness, Sunday evening Dwyane Wade along with the Big Brother Big Sisters Foundation will go One-on-One with 100 fathers and 100 children for an afternoon of food, fun, and games at Santa's Enchanted Forest. Each of the Fathers will receive a copy of Dwyane's memoir A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger than Basketball.

 

Wade's World foundation was created to provide support to various educational, health and family service programs and has been dedicated to giving back to the South Florida and Chicago-area communities since 2003.
