How To Prepare
For Summer 2012
Whilst we’re
starting to look forward to the delights of the summer sun, our figures are
just coming out of winter hibernation. It’s time to start shedding the layers
and start getting bikini-ready, but our summer resolutions can quickly go out
of the window during the season of al fresco drinking and delicious barbeques.
Luckily there are some easy ways to fit a new health regime into the exciting
build-up to the summer, helping to keep your bikini masterplan on track.
Exercise Smartly
Many of us fall
into the trap of believing that the quickest way to a Hollywood figure is to
hit the gyms for three hours every day of the week. Whilst this philosophy is
the quickest way to aching muscles and limbs, it’s actually one of the worst
weight-loss tactics for most people. Continual pain is not a motivator.
Forget about
the latest fitness fad and incorporate some easy exercises into your everyday
routine. As the sun is shining, try to minimise your reliance on your car or
public transport and walk as much as you can throughout the day. It’s much
easier to take a little more time walking around your local area than it is to
keep to an exhausting exercise regime at the gym. You’ll be amazed at home
quickly your legs will begin to tone up, so why not show off your pins in a pair
of the latest Ted Baker shoes?
Eat Healthily
When it comes to
maintaining a healthy lifestyle, it’s never advisable to put your body through
any extreme diet. Instead, try to create a meal based around your favourite
healthy foods, making it an interesting challenge each time. Ensure that you
eat at regular times and that you get as many of your five-a-day as possible. Pre-sliced
fruit and vegetables make a great snack and can be spiced up with a side salsa.
It’s also important to drink lots of water throughout the day to boost your
energy levels and concentration.
Work Together
Finally,
remember that you’re not alone in your preparations for the summer: most of
your friends and family will be in exactly the same boat. Make sure you enlist
their help and make a go of it together. Sharing the burden will make the
process far more enjoyable and will create a support network that will prove
vital when you have a bad day. Most importantly, don’t forget to enjoy yourself
in the summer sun!
