Age Apropiate Dressing

Why is it that whenever I see a posting on age appropriate dressing the person in the post is always wearing something I don't like and simply just can't see myself in. Simply put does age appropriate dressing mean you have to let go of the things you like for the things that society says you should be wearing. I get up every morning at 6 a.m. so that I can run five miles M-f and i also fight off the urge to stuff a Sarah Lee pound cake down my throat daily just so I can enjoy the retail shopping experience I get on the weekend. Are the sacrifices even worth it if i could not buy the things I wanted and dress how I please. I do understand that of course my teen years are behind me but for right now I think I will let my body decide what is and isn't appropriate for me. What are your thoughts on age appropriate dressing?
