Caregiving Made Easy with the Sam's Club Caregiving Program.

Growing up the eighth of nine children was the most amazing childhood experience. I was always surrounded by family, fond memories and tons of love. That's why it was pretty much a no brainer  when the conversation came up of being a caregiver for my parents and with the help of an amazing support system and programs like Sam's Club Caregiver Program I proudly took on the role.

There I was 9 months pregnant when I got the call, It was my sister on the line telling me to get to the hospital because my mother was being brought in. This wasn't a new phone call for me but this was the call that changed my life for good. You see that was the day my mother suffered a stroke that would land her in the hospital for good causing her to never be the same again. It was over 3 years my Mom spent between the hospital and the rehab facility that became her home and over three years I did my best at caregiving for her. You see my mother was a very kind and loving woman and I took it upon myself to make sure that even though she was no longer able o care for herself that she remained that way. It's now been a little over a year since my Mom's passing but instead of drowning in my tears I instead focused on the beautiful life she provided me and find joy in knowing I provided her the same.

I have currently taken on the role of my Dad's caretaker but some may see it as him taking care of me. My father is 85 years old and I can proudly say living his best life. He drives, he cooks, he even picks my now toddler up from daycare daily and that's why I'm so appreciative to stores like Sam's Club for making my caregiving experience an easier and more enjoyable one for me.

It's at Sam's Club I can make sure my father has all his daily prescriptions and where we are both able to stay up to date with his health and wellness. I personally find Sam's Club to be both more convenient  and cost effective than other retailers as well. I mean where else can you go to get your daily meds and cake samples at the same time.

I take pride in knowing that thanks to the Sam's Club Caregiver Program I'm able to provide my father with the items such as Ensure and Glucerna that keep him strong and striving on a daily basis as well as products such as Depends and Poise pads should the need arise.

No one said being a caregiver was easy but I can attest that it's quite an amazing experience. Yes there will be days when you're over worked and overwhelmed but there are also days when you rejoice in the fact of being able to care for your loved ones. When thinking of becoming a caregiver I would advise you to just be prepared and take things day by day. Always be aware of what your options are try to keep an open mind. No one can tell you exactly what you'll experience from day to day but find comfort in the fact that you're taking care of someone you Love who undoubtedly loves you back!
