10th Annual Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival!

If you've heard it once you've heard it a million times bu it's true, When you love what you do it will never seem like a days work. My love for blogging and celebrating music brought me to the 10th annual Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival this past weekend leaving me on a sensual natural high. High on the love of music, high on seeing over 100,000 of my people gather to celebrate and have a good time, high on the artist, high on the food, and a total high for the City of Miami Gardens for once again pulling off a fantastic event.  If you call yourself a lover of the art then this was definitely the place to be. Allow me to take you on a brief recap!

 Freddie Jackson
Mr. Freddie Jackson graced us with his presence bringing back overwhelming memories from my childhood. Freddie then spoke to the crowd advising us that he was currently working on a cookbook and that when it comes to the sounds of today he'd really love to work with both Jennifer Hudson and John Legend. It was great hearing him sing his hits such as You are My Lady and Rock  With Me Tonight! Yes Ladies and Gentleman, Gotta Love Mr. Freddie Jackson.

 Jeffrey Osborne
You got it right folks its Mr. Woo Woo Woo himself, Mr. Jeffrey Osborne performed on Saturday as part of  Men of  Soul with Peabo Bryson, Howard Hewett and Freddie Jackson driving the crowd insane. If the Men of Soul are coming to a location near you then you definitely want to make it your business to check them out! Absolutely amazing and they sounded Fabtabulous!

 Toni Braxton
Toni Braxton turned the show ou with her smooth raspy tunes! But if I'm being honest with you, Toni Braxton was so stunning in person I can hardly remember what she sounded like. Toni made me want to watch the entire show while working out on my elliptical! Beyond Gorg! I loved how her sisters Trina, Towanda, and Tracy performed Back Up for her! That's right Ms. Braxton, Keep it in the Family!

 Brian Culbertson
Brian Culbertson performed on Sunday and definitely left the crowd with a memory they won't soon forget. His live show is insane. I witnessed women crying, fanning themselves, and applauding till no end during his performance. That's the way you Rock Jazz in the Gardens and leave an everlasting impression on your audience!

 Erykah Badu
Ms. Badu did not disappoint with her performance. Although I'd see n her perform live before I swear to you her voice has the ability to melt your soul! I wanted to get up there with her so bad and sing a song or 2 cause yall know inmy head we are friends but Ms. Badu totally handled her own like onlyshe could. She was funny, entertaining, and gave the crowd it's money worth! Yes Yes Yes Erykah Badu!

 Run DMC
One of my most favorite performances of the festival came from Run DMC! The crowd went absolutely nuts when Rev. Run let us know the crowd didnt come to see Rev Run but Mc Run and he was ready to let him loose on us complete with some of the most beautiful curse words ever heard. Keep in mind he asked God for forgiveness and all was well! Lol! Fantastic and an incredible performace I will never forget.

 Maxwell

My Boo Maxwell closed out the show on Sunday night and man oh man I'm not even sure if I can put into words the Magic that was his performance. Can we just get into his suit! Yes Maxwell Yes! Were you all aware that he sung at my wedding? Lies! But I did walk the aisle to This Woman's Work which to me makes us family! Thought I would lose my mind when he performed Fortunate! Maxwell sounded like it was just yesterday that he did the original recordings of his biggest hit but he let the crowd know he's been in the business for 20 years. Luv this man for lyfe!
