BET Awards the Day After

This morning as I reflect on last night's BET Awards I can't help but to think about a comment made by Joe Jackson, the father of Michael Jackson, where he stated the tribute to Michael was great but it would have been better if it would have been done before Michael passed so he would have been around to see it. This statement is very true and I'm sure its weighing heavily on the hearts of many right now.

One things for sure we can not change the past but what we can do is from this day forward prevent this from happening again. This is what I believe the people at the BET awards set out to do by changing the regularly scheduled Bet Awards to an all out Tribute to King of Pop.

The show lasted nearly four hours but I must say I was entertained the entire way through. Jamie Foxx did a great job hosting the show from the start to the ending. It was stated that the show was going to be a celebration of Michael's life and that it definitely was as shown by the ,"keeping it real language, and shows of alcohol, just like at any other celebration. Although there were highlights throughout the show some of the moments that stood out most to me were the performance by Neyo singing Lady in my Life, BVD going old school with Poison, Jamie Fox with his Michael wardrobe, and who can forget the stirring words from Michael's baby sister.

Overall the show was great and it was very nice seeing so many of my favorite artist come together for a great cause. One things for sure Michael will forever live in out hearts and I want to thanks the BET Awards for paying tribute to a legend.
