FABulites, If there's one thing you should know about me besides the fact that I love all things Fashion it's the fact that I also Love all things Food and Restaurants! Not only is it due to the food itself it's also because I love being able to share these experiences with my family but in the post below you will see sometimes things don't always work out as planned! This was definitely the case as we visited the BoneFish Grill to try out their new Fall Menu for the very first time!
I couldn't wait to get to Bonefish Grill for my very first experience and you know, see if they lived up to the hype I'd heard so much about. I gathered up BabyFab and FabJr and we headed out to the Weston location completely excited about our meal ahead!
Bonefish Grill is an American dining casual seafood chain with locations across the United States. Since my hubby is allergic to seafood it was nice to be able to enjoy a little of it for myself since he wasn't joining me. I couldn't wait for our appetizer to arrive. I decided on the Thai Coconut Shrimp and our wonderful waitress brought over a super fresh nearly loaf of bread to go along with it. It was absolutely delicious and all the confirmation I needed to know I was in for one heck of a experience, or so I thought.
When the appetizers first arrived BabyFab was in good spirits. If you are the parent of a toddler or have kids in general then you know how that can change in an instant, and so it did!
I felt BabyFab getting very antsy and I did not know If I'd be able to complete my meal with my sanity. In his defense he was just waking up from a nap before we left from the restaurant and now that I look back on he may have needed a little more time before we headed out. I didn't want to prolong anything so I immediately orders him Chicken Tenders and fries from the kids menu and watched his little face light up when they arrived. He also had an apple juice along with his meal which seemed to do the trick or keeping him a little occupied as FabJr and I ordered our meals as well.
I decided to go with the Filet Mignon and Crab Cake meal which consisted of a 6 oz “center cut” sirloin, Maryland style crab cake, and two sides! One bite of the Crab Cake and I knew without a doubt I'd made the most perfect decision. I'm also a huge steak lover and the filet mignon was definitely within the top 3 I've ever had before! Delicious is an understatement!
Fab Jr. was doing his Teen thing and decided to go with the Atlantic Salmon meal with a tasty buttery garlic sauce. His meal was completed with Jasmine Rice, Steamed Broccoli and topped off with a Raspberry Tea for his drink. I think the picture does all the talking on this one, Amazing indeed which left him raving for hours to come! Little did we know the mother of all Showdowns was just ahead!
This cute pic was taken at the conclusion of the showdown. In toddler land a couple minutes can make all the difference. I know the parents reading can surely relate!
To make a long story short as soon as I began to bask in the glory of what was one of the most amazing meals ever BabyFab took it upon himself to throw the Mother of all Toddler Tantrums! He was upset because the waitress took his cup to give him an apple juice refill and things went down rather quickly from there. It ended with him spilling his apple juice all over the floor, screaming at the top of his lungs, FabJr nearly having a Teen Attack , and me very embarrassingly having to find someone to clean up the mess before one of the restaurant goers slipped and fell making a bigger mockery out of what was a fantastic meal!
All in all, Showdown aside it was still one of the best meals I've ever had. I'd also like to mention how helpful and beyond understanding the staff was to the madness that occurred. Even asked if I wanted to stay for an on the house dessert. It felt really good knowing that not only was I able to consume a remarkable meal but they also had a perfect understanding of how Toddlers like to Show Up, Show Out and have a Show Down every now and then and for that I will always be grateful.
